QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
· Valid Utah Teaching certificate, or willingness to complete the requirements to earn a professional license. Science teacher willing to get Math endorsement OR Math teacher willing to get Biology or Earth Science endorsement.
· Level 3 Math Teacher preferred

Students, if you are interested in taking Introduction to Automotive (AUTO 1000) or Small Engine Repair next school year (these classes are taught by USU Eastern), please come pick up an application in the counseling office. Space for these classes is limited and acceptance by the USU instructors is required. The deadline to apply for these classes is May 10th.
The USU Eastern welding faculty will be at Carbon High on April 17th during advisory. They will talk about the welding program as well as explain what students need to do to take a class next school year. Tryouts for the 2024-25 CHS Cheer and Drill Teams
Registration for Competitive Cheer and Drill for the 2024-25 school year are now open on Aktivate. If you are planning to tryout for either team you must be registered on Aktivate prior to the tryout date for each team. Cheer tryouts will be held April 9-11 and Drill tryouts will be held April 17-19. Please get this taken care of ASAP. Please call 435-613-4227 for more information or questions.

Reminder tomorrow is our ACT testing day. The only students that need to come to school are juniors. Regulations are listed below: These are ACT regulations and failure to follow them will result in you being removed from the testing session.
Rooms will open at 7:45 AM and doors will be shut promptly at 8:00. Once the doors are shut no students will be allowed into the room. No Smart watches or phones are allowed in the testing rooms. No food or drink allowed in the testing room. No talking will be allowed while the test is going on. Bring an approved calculator, if needed talk to a math teacher to borrow one. Leave all personal belongings in your car, like purses, backpacks, and phones. BRING A PHOTO ID. Bring a #2 pencil. Good luck on the test and we look forward to seeing you in the morning.
Wednesday, March 13th, is Carbon High's ACT day. Only juniors are required to come. Juniors need to be checked in and in their testing rooms by 8:00 AM. Test rules do not allow students to enter the testing room after the door is closed. The credit recovery lab will be open for seniors working on credit recovery.
Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Girls Head Basketball Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The Head Girls Basketball Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the Girls Basketball program in the Carbon School District in accordance with district and UHSAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the varsity team but will be committed to working with all levels of the program. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program. Must have successful coaching experience and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed. Will work with the Athletic Director to schedule competitions and make arrangements. Must have the ability to work well with students, parents, school staff and community members. Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Previous coaching experience required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Good working knowledge of basketball programs a must. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be able to pass a live screen fingerprint background test. The ASVAB Career Exploration exam will be offered at 8:00 am on Wednesday March
20th at the Carbon School District office for students in 10-12th grade. Students who
would like to participate need to sign up in the counseling office.
Reminder for Juniors, you need to be to the school by 5:30 to line up for promenade. Promenade will begin at 6:00. After the promenade and group dance is over the gym will be cleared and the dance will begin at 7:00.
Students/Parents: Due to Prom tomorrow(March 1st), we will follow the Monday PLC Schedule. Students will be dismissed for lunch at 12:10pm, then they are free to leave campus to prepare for Prom activities. Busses will run at the normal 3:15pm dismissal time.
Students and Parents: A reminder... Course request sheets need to be completed by the morning of Monday, March 4th. Students do not need to enter the courses into Naviance. The counselors will help them enter those in the computer next week. If students need a new course request sheet, the student can pick it up in the counseling office.
