Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Head Boys Basketball Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The Head Boys Basketball Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the Boys Basketball program in the Carbon School District in accordance with district and UHSAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the varsity team but will be committed to working with all levels of the program. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program. Must have successful coaching experience and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed. Will work with the Athletic Director to schedule competitions and make arrangements. Must have the ability to work well with students, parents, school staff and community members. Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Previous coaching experience required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Good working knowledge of basketball programs a must. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must be able to pass a live screen fingerprint background test. We would like to congratulate all of our athletes and coaches for all of their hard work and dedication this winter. It is now time for all of that hard work to payoff at the upcoming state competitions. This weekend is packed! Both Boys and Girls Wrestling will compete at the state tournament at Sevier Valley Center in Richfield on Friday and Saturday. Girls Basketball is hosting a second round tournament game here at CHS on Friday 2/16/24. Our Boys Basketball team is traveling to Richfield High School for their 2nd round game on Saturday 2/17/24. And our Boys and Girls Swimming team is competing in the state swim meet at BYU on Friday and Saturday. Be aware that all tickets to attend these events will need to be purchased on GoFan. There will not be a cash option for these events as they are UHSAA sponsored events. We strongly recommend that you pre-purchase your tickets to avoid long waits. Remember that the only passes that will work to get into any of these events are UHSAA passes.
Tonight, February 13th, Carbon High is holding Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4:00 - 7:00pm. You are invited to come in and meet with you child's teachers. Also tonight, there is a 10th and 11th grade College and Career Readiness (CCR) meeting from 6:00 - 6:30pm in the CHS Auditorium. We hope to see you here!

Our Guest Speaker is Carbon High Graduate & Utah Supreme Court Justice Paige Peterson. She will speak at 5:00pm. The 10th & 11th grade College & Career Readiness meeting will be held at 6:00pm. Teachers will be set up throughout the commons areas to answer questions about their classes. Dinner will also be served. This will be a very engaging and informative night....

The role of the Cheerleading Coach is to teach the cheerleading squad to promote school spirit and encouragement of athletic teams. Responsible to coordinate and run safe and effective practices; coordinate team selection/tryouts; work, communicate, collaborate effectively with the athletes, staff, parents, administration and support staff in support of the school's vision for the team; maintain a positive image for the school, community and team; engage in school and community events; support and motivate student athletes to do their best in academic studies; develop sport-specific skills in athletes; provide individual instruction/guidance for student athletes in a constructive manner; adhere to state and other safety guidelines, rules and regulations of the sport/activity; manage, plan and budget resources in conformity to School District regulations, policy and procedures; oversee local and extended trips and events that are beneficial to the team and the school; maintains team equipment, orders uniforms and gear; participates in the hiring and instructing of assistant coaches; obtain/retain certifications as required (CPR, etc). For those students planning to tryout for a spring sport, the deadline for registration on Aktivate is Monday February 26 at noon. Parents, if you haven't already done so, please get your student registered for the sport they plan to tryout for as soon as possible. Please remember that anyone who has attendance probation issues will not be allowed to tryout on that date and may put themselves in jeopardy of not making the team. CHS senior parents. Tomorrow (Friday) January 12 the credit recovery lab will be open from 10:30-1:00 for seniors who would like to come in and work on credit recovery. This is a good opportunity for students working on credit recovery to get some extra work in.
