Carbon High School will be offering summer school May 27th - June 20th from 8am - 12:15pm. Registration forms can be picked up at the counseling office and need to be returned by May 17th. Students will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the school. Contact your student's counselor for a list of classes that are needed.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Head Football Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass a LiveScan fingerprint background screening. The Head Football Coach is responsible for leading the school’s football program by planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of coaching and team development. This includes fostering a positive team culture, maintaining high academic and behavioral standards for student-athletes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant athletic regulations and school policies. Develop and implement effective practice plans and game strategies. Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and support staff. Promote the development of student-athletes academically, socially, and athletically. Ensure proper conditioning, safety, and injury prevention protocols. Manage team equipment, uniforms, and facilities. Collaborate with the athletic director and school administration. Promote team unity, discipline, and sportsmanship. Maintain communication with parents, athletes, media, and the community. Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and encourage academic success. Adhere to all rules and regulations set by the state athletic association. Previous coaching experience (head or assistant level preferred). Knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Ability to lead and motivate high school athletes. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. First Aid/CPR/AED certification (required or obtainable). Experience with film review platforms (e.g., Hudl), Experience organizing offseason strength and conditioning programs. This is a reminder that 9th and 10th grade students will be completing Aspire testing starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 22nd and ending Friday, April 25th. Please remind students to bring their charged Chromebook to school each morning. There are also parts of the test where students can choose to have text played aloud for them. Please have your student bring wired headphones if they have them so they can use this option if desired.

Carbon High will be Aspire Plus testing April 22nd - 25th for all 9th and 10th grade students. There will be some changes to the daily schedule due to testing. Please see the attached bell schedule. Freshmen and Sophomores will test in their current English, Math, and Science classes. All students, including juniors and seniors, will follow the adjusted bell schedule for classes. Students with college broadcast classes will attend at the regular class time. Students with a college class on USU campus, should check with their instructor about when class will be held next week. As always, students attending college classes off campus should check into the school office to ensure their attendance is marked correctly.

CHS Students and Parents - ACT testing is tomorrow, April 10th at 7:45 am for ALL juniors. Eleventh grade students need to bring a photo ID, their Chromebook (fully charged) and a #2 pencil. They should leave all personal belongings in their car or at home (this includes backpacks, purses, phones, etc). Rooms will be open at 7:45 am and testing rooms will close at 8:00 am sharp. There will be no admittance into the test after 8:00 am. No food or drink will be allowed inside the testing room. ACT Rosters have been given to advisory teachers so the student can check which classroom they will be testing in. Busses will run at their normal schedule. If a junior needs to ride a bus, they will wait at the school until 3:15 pm. Ninth(9), Tenth(10), and Twelfth(12) grade students DO NOT come to school tomorrow. They will be excused.

Assists teachers with Special Education students to enable learning with minimal disruptions to other students. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, the Special Education Aide may provide a variety of support and assistance, and should be flexible adjusting to student needs. Delivers educational interventions designed by Special Education teachers to help students meet educational, academic, life skills, behavioral, physical, social and emotional goals. Assists teachers with Special Education students to enable learning with minimal disruptions to other students. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, the Special Education Aide may provide a variety of support and assistance, and should be flexible adjusting to student needs. USU Eastern is hosting a Junior Preview day on April 17th from 10am - 3pm for all Carbon High Juniors. During this event, students will tour campus, meet faculty and staff and learn what the USU Eastern campus has to offer. Students may pick up a parent permission form and register in the counseling office. Attendance will be taken at this event and those who are confirmed as attending will be marked as a school activity. Make sure you are marked present at USUE.

Students, we have a great opportunity on Thursday, March 20th during advisory, to have the GEAR UP director come talk to students at Carbon High. GEAR UP is a program run through USU Eastern that is intended to help students with academic success and work toward post high school goals. The program provides opportunities such as college visits and career exploration opportunities. They also work on ACT preparation, personal education plans, and guidance on navigating financial aid. If you are interested in attending the GEAR UP "advisory", please come sign up in the counseling office.

On March 28th, Intermountain Electronics will be at Carbon High during advisory to talk about their summer internship program. Students 16 or older are eligible to apply for this opportunity.  If you are interested in attending this meeting, please come sign up in the counseling office.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a PE Teacher at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Must have a Bachelor's degree and a current Utah Secondary Teaching license with endorsements in Physical Education. Responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment; that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement; and that develops strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each student’s ability. Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness and individual, dual or team sports, utilizing curriculum designated by the Utah State Board of Education. Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects accommodation for individual needs of students assigned. Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, regulations, and IEP. Next Thursday, March 13th, instructors from the USU welding program will be holding an advisory at Carbon High. They will be talking about the classes they are offering next year and explain what will be needed to take one of them. Applications for those classes will also be made available at that time. If you requested welding for next year or are interested in learning more about the program, please come and sign up for the advisory in the counseling office (there is a sign-up sheet on the counter).

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Language Arts/Debate Teacher at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Must have a Master's degree from an accredited university, those with a Bachelor's degree may be considered and a valid Secondary Utah Teaching license, or the willingness to complete the requirements to earn a professional license. A High School Language Arts Teacher is an educator who instructs students in grades 9-12 on various aspects of English language, including reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening, with a focus on developing critical thinking and analytical abilities appropriate for the middle school level. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Career & Technical Education (CTE) Teacher at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Must have at least a minimum B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area. Current Utah teaching license in required content area. Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of CTE. CTE teachers help students explore and prepare to enter a career or technical occupation. They use a variety of teaching methods to help students learn and develop skills related to a specific occupation or career field. They demonstrate tasks, techniques, and tools used in an occupation. The ASVAB Career Exploration exam will be offered at 10:00 am on Thursday March 6th for students in 10-12th grade. If your student would like to participate they can sign up in the counseling office. The ASVAB measures abilities and helps predict success in the military. It is also a career exploration exam for students. There is no military obligation associated with this exam.

ATTENTION JUNIORS (11th grade) AND JUNIOR PARENTS! If your junior student is NOT participating in the Promenade Dance but would like to participate in the Promenade Escort, please have them fill out the Google Form in their email.
