Please check your school email for a SENIOR EXIT SURVEY which must be completed as part of your checkout process. (This includes early graduates as well) The survey will ask about your plan and placement activities for next FALL, specifically October 2022 through December 2022. Will you be working? Attending a college, university, or applied technology college? Etc...
We appreciate your participation, it will just take a moment of your time. Please complete the survey before graduation practice.
Each graduate will receive 5 free guest tickets for graduation. There are a limited number of extra tickets available (also free), and you can request those (up to 2 total per graduate) using the form on the graduation information page on the CHS website. (The link is just below the Carbon Promise). That request form will open Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 7:30 AM. Students can pick up tickets starting May 20, 2022 when they check out. As a reminder: all fees need to be paid and all U's worked off before tickets can be picked up. We're looking forward to a great day on May 25th!
Just a reminder we will be doing Aspire Plus Testing Tuesday and Wednesday. 9th and 10th Grade will come in the mornings both days to test. 11th and 12th Grades will come on a late start. The schedule is below. If students have to ride the bus in the morning we will have rooms 11th and 12th graders can work in while the others test. Those seniors working on credit recovery, the credit recovery lab will be open during the testing time.

It is time to hold elections for Student Government for 2022-2023 school year. An email was sent out but a lot of students did not get the email. If your student is interested in running for a class officer position or a student body officer position they need to go to the link below and join the canvas course. There will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, April 26 in Mrs. Erickson's classroom, C-6 at 7:00 pm. We encourage everyone to run for a position so you have have a say in our school activities.

Hello, CHS students and parents. On Wednesday, April 27th, representatives from Intermountain Electronics will be holding a lunch meeting for students to talk about their summer internship program. Students wanting to participate in the meeting need to sign up in the counseling office by the end of the school day on April 26th. The meeting is in room D-6 and will begin at 11:45am (flex) and go through lunch. Lunch will be provided. Current 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students may attend the meeting and fill out the application for the internship (students must be 16 or older).

Assists the Head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. Assists the Head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Color Guard Advisor at Carbon High School. The Color Guard instructor coordinates the preparations, exercises, and activities of the school marching band’s auxiliary unit, the Color Guard. The instructor prepares and directs the unit for independent performance and competition, as well as for performances integrated within the larger marching band. Prepares warm-up routines/practice exercises for the unit; choreographs, arranges, and implements color guard routine(s), both as an integrated part of the marching band, and as an independent unit; schedules and conducts extra rehearsals for the unit. Schedules separate competition events as the unit transitions its status from an attachment of the marching band to an independent competition entity (Winter Guard) during the winter season; Other related duties, as assigned, to assist the Band Director prepare students for competitions and public appearances, including parades and reviews. If you have a student interested in taking welding next school year, there will be a meeting on Wednesday, April 13th at 4pm in room 101 of the CIB on USU Eastern's campus. Applications for the program will be handed out at this meeting and will be due on May 2nd.
Seniors, on April 13th and 14th, seniors will have an opportunity to share and celebrate some of what they have learned in their high school career. The radio station is planning to highlight the class of 2022 by playing segments of seniors talking about their plans and experiences. We will be calling students down on Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 1pm to complete the 3 - 5 minute interview. If your student would like to participate, they should come when they are called or contact Mr. Brooks if they need to be called down at a specific time.
Both CHS Baseball and Softball have cancelled their games against Grand High for later today (3/29). Baseball has rescheduled their games for tomorrow (3/30).
Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Dean of Students at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The Dean of Students will work closely with the principal, school personnel and students to build and maintain a positive, safe school climate. Teaching and/or leadership experience in a school setting demonstrating use and implementation of successful student behavior management strategies. The Dean of Students will oversee Tier 3 behavior, academic and attendance students. The Dean of Students will also oversee the alternate education program at Carbon High School. In addition to these duties, the Dean of Students will assist the CTE Director in CTE responsibilities. Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and support; ability to create and implement student behavior expectations; must have conflict resolution strategies, must have knowledge of State policy and laws affecting the management of student behaviors. Must have the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community members; collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders through a variety of methods; provide leadership of behavior management and supervision; facilitate the resolution of conflict; plan, organize and manage time and resources. Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree is preferred including candidates with their administrative certification, enrolled in administrative program, or willing to get their admin certification. Congrats to the Varsity and JV Quiz Bowl teams at Carbon! The JV took 4th place and the Varsity took 2nd place in a nail-biting finish at the Green River Tournament today! Congrats Carbon Quiz Bowl! Good luck at the Region Tournament next week!
Any students involved in credit recovery, we will be holding labs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-8. This is our final push for seniors before graduation as well as those that are wanting to get a jump start before summer school and next year. Mrs. Bryner and Mrs. Baker will be available to help students during those times.
We are excited to be hosting Junior Prom tonight. We wanted to provide some reminders for tonight. Students will have to have their school ID to get into the dance or be able to pull up their SIS account to show they attend Carbon High. If their dates are not students at Carbon High they will have to have a guest pass that is signed by that students school administrator and signed by a Carbon High Administrator. Those are turned in at the ticket table. Students have to be at least in 9th grade to attend Prom and cannot be older than 19. Middle school students will not be allowed in. Promenade will begin at 6:00 for juniors, families are welcome to attend the Promenade. The gym will be cleared at the conclusion and then students will be able enter the Prom beginning at 7:00 pm. Outside doors will be locked at 8:30 pm and no students will be allowed in after 8:30 pm. If students leave the building at any time during the dance they will not be let back into the dance. Thank you for helping us make this an outstanding Prom for our students.
