Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Assistant Cheer Coach at Carbon High School. The Assistant High School Cheerleading Coach promotes sportsmanship and physical fitness among students. Supervises all cheerleader activities, and works closely with other staff and the administration. Coordinate and supervise cheerleading activities at district, league, state, and other levels. Assist the head coach in designing training program. Promote sportsmanship and physical fitness. Ensure that all cheerleader activities conform to UHSAA guidelines. Handle other tasks as assigned. Previous experience as a Cheer Coach or Cheerleader is a plus. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must also be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background screening (cost of $25). If you are still in need of a physical, this is a great opportunity. You MUST bring the physical form with you. Carbon School District is seeking applications for Guest Teachers at various locations throughout the District for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. Guest Teachers provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. Guest Teachers execute lesson plans left by the absent teacher. Guest Teachers create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Guest Teachers monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures. Must be a high school graduate and be at least age 18. Summer school students, we have just a few reminders concerning our last two weeks of school. We will not have school on Thursday June 16 but we will be back on Friday June 17. The last week of School will run June 20-24. If you were issued a Chromebook without a case they need to be returned on June 24th with the charger in order to avoid a fine. Seniors: Graduation Practice is Wed, 5/25/22 @ 10:00 AM starting in the CHS Auditorium, casual dress. We will be going outside (so wear sunblock or a hat, if needed).
For official graduation, seniors need to meet in the New Gym by 5:00 PM. Graduation starts promptly at 6:00 PM.
Gates for seating will open at 4:30 PM. Information about drop off/parking is on the 2022 graduation page on the CHS homepage. Tickets are required for entry.
Senior Sunset is tonight at 8:00 pm. Yearbooks will be handed out to the seniors who ordered them. Free signature books will be available for students who don't have a yearbook. A limited number of yearbooks will be available for purchase at senior sunset for seniors the cost is $85.
Seniors will receive their yearbooks tonight (May 24th) at Senior Sunset. For all other students, yearbook day will be tomorrow (Wednesday, May 25th) starting at 8:10 AM. If you are wanting to buy a yearbook, there will be only a few for sale. Please bring $85.00 (CASH ONLY). If you did not get a yearbook, there will be FREE signature books for all students to have their friends and teachers sign. CHS parents and students, reminder no school tomorrow it is a professional development day for teachers.
Students still working on Edgenuity, the lab will be open from 8-3 tomorrow for anyone who needs to come in.
Seniors the building will be open for you to come in tomorrow to pick up graduation tickets. In order to pick up your tickets your orange checkout sheet must be completed. If you still need teacher signatures, teachers will not be available tomorrow. You can come in Monday and Tuesday to get the signatures and then pick up your graduation tickets. Your tickets WILL NOT be given away if you don't pick them up tomorrow. Tickets can be picked up through Wednesday afternoon. Remember tickets cannot be picked up until the orange checkout sheet is complete. Tickets can only be picked up by the graduate, in order to make sure everyone receives their tickets.
Seniors, graduation practice will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM. Meet in the auditorium.

Seniors, this is a reminder that we have the awards assembly this Wednesday (May 18th) beginning at 1pm in the CHS auditorium. For the first 45 minutes of the assembly, representatives from scholarship programs will be announcing scholarship winners. After this beginning portion, the rest of the grades will be called in and additional schoolwide awards will be given.

MORP will be held Monday May 9th from 7:30-9:15 at USUE. Tickets already purchased for MORP will be honored. If tickets need to be purchased $15 for and individual $20 a couple.
