Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Driver's Education Instructor at Carbon High School. Driver's education instructors teach students how to operate a car as well as safe driving techniques.A driver's education instructor imparts knowledge of defensive driving skills, state driving laws, accident causality and avoidance, and basic traffic courtesy to future drivers. Must be able to educate students in both theoretical and practical formats. Will teach the classroom portion of the class and possibly in the car if all certifications are completed. Must have a Bachelor's degree. Must possess a current Utah Driver's Education certificate. This is a part time position.

Carbon High School will be holding a FAFSA Completion Event for seniors and parents on Monday, October 12th from 5-8pm in the Carbon High Library (masks required). We will have financial aid staff from USU Eastern as well as virtual volunteers from the Utah Systems of Higher Education available to answer questions and help work through the application.
Carbon School District is seeking application for a full time Custodian. Custodians are responsible for keeping buildings clean and in an orderly condition. A custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature. They have to perform heavy cleaning duties, such as washing walls and windows, shampooing rugs, cleaning floors, removing rubbish and performing routine maintenance activities. Custodians also have to notify management of repairs needed, tend to furnaces and boilers and clean snow and other debris from sidewalks. The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. This position will be based out of the district office but will also be required to "roam" among schools as the need to fill in is required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous experience in janitorial work. Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a live scan fingerprint background check (cost of $25). This position will remain open until filled.

Hello, 12th grade students and parents. Next week, on October 6th, Carbon High School will hosting our Utah College Application Week. This is an opportunity for 12th grade students to apply for Utah colleges. Many schools from across the state will have representatives here to answer questions and help complete applications. Many of the colleges will WAIVE the fee for applications filled out that day. Students will receive a schedule and be excused from class based on which colleges they want to apply for. You can apply to as many schools as you like that day. Students should plan to have their Social Security number, Driver’s License information, and a credit card or payment information for any schools who do not waive the application fee. This is an amazing opportunity to get a jump start on your future.

Carbon School District is seeking Sub Bus Drivers. Paid training provided to obtain Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement. Responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events. Drives a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging students at designated stops. Transports students and teacher on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed. Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy. Conducts safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily. Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary. Services buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; checks and when necessary fills tires and batteries. Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition. Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required. Attends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Utah Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children. Performs other related duties as required. Will work approximately 20 hours per week. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check (cost $25). Has the responsibility for the overall operation of the Girl's Golf program in the Carbon School District in accordance with district and UHSAA rules and regulations.Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off-school property. Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program..Must have successful coaching experience in Golf and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
