Tomorrow, March 3rd, Carbon High is hosting the 2023 Junior Prom. We will be following the "Monday PLC (Early Out) Schedule" during the school day to accommodate students wishing to attend Prom. ALL CHS students will be dismissed for Prom activities following lunch at 12:46pm. If our regular bus riders remain on campus, busses will pick them up at the regular dismissal times (3:15 - 3:30pm). Students are encouraged to arrange rides home if they desire. Commons areas within the school will be available to students waiting for a bus from 12:46 - 3:15pm.

The 2023-2024 school year spend plans for secondary schools are being reviewed and open for public comment in the March 8th Carbon School District Board Meeting during the General Board Meeting at 5:00pm at the District Office (251 West 400 North, Price)
Parents/Guardians... On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Carbon High 11th grade students will be taking the ACT exam during the morning hours and 8th grade students from Mont Harmon and Helper Middle Schools will be visiting CHS for orientation during the afternoon. Due to these two events, ALL 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students are EXCUSED from classes that day. They are NOT expected to come to school on TUESDAY, MARCH 7TH.
On this day, we are offering Credit Recovery lab time for 12th grade students enrolled in Credit Recovery ONLY. If you are a 12th grade Credit Recovery student, you are invited to come to the Credit Recovery Lab, but you will not be permitted into other parts of the school.

The ASVAB Career Exploration exam will be offered at 8:30 am on March 1st at the Carbon School District office for students in 10-12th grade. Please sign up in the counseling office if you would like to participate. The ASVAB measures abilities and helps predict success in the military. It is also a career exploration exam for students not wishing to enter the military, but hoping to figure out the best career pathway for them. There is no military obligation associated with this exam.
Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Full Care Para Pro at Carbon High School. Special Education Aide will work one on one with students who have special needs. This is a 29 hour per week position. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a Live Scan Fingerprint background check. Pay begins at $14.92 per hour. Carbon Girls Basketball plays Summit Academy tomorrow (Saturday 2/18) at 1:00pm at home in the 2nd round of the State Playoffs. It is a "BLUE-OUT" game. Come support and wear your "Carbon Blue!" Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Head Boys Volleyball Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The Head Boys Volleyball Coach has the responsibility for the overall operation of the Boys Volleyball program in the Carbon School District in accordance with district and UHSAA rules and regulations. The head coach has primary coaching responsibility for the varsity team but will be committed to working with all levels of the program. The Head Coach must have a commitment to the philosophy of providing a structured, developmentally appropriate, increasingly competitive and dignified program..Must have successful coaching experience and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed. Will work with the Athletic Director to schedule competitions and make arrangements. Must have the ability to work well with students, parents, school staff and community members. Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Previous coaching experience required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Good working knowledge of volleyball programs a must. Performs other related duties as assigned. Must pass a live screen fingerprint background test. This program will begin competition in the Spring of 2024 but the coach will be hired now to begin open gyms and start skill development with students. She is also going to talk about some leadership opportunities at USU, including scholarships. This would be valuable information for both juniors and seniors. Hello, students and parents.
Currently, in the CHS counseling office, we have a couple of great opportunities going on to receive help with preparing for college! First, each Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 3pm and each Thursday morning from 8am to 9am we will have a USU admissions specialist in the counseling office to work with students. If you are working on an admissions application or scholarship application or would just like more information about getting ready for college, plan to come during those times. Contact your counselor if you need to be called from class.

Thank you all for your patience and support today as we managed the snow!! Our schools were full and kids had a wonderfully normal day.
As of tonight, our plan is to run buses and start school at the normal time tomorrow morning.
We will continue to monitor the weather reports, accumulation, ice, and plowing efforts.
We will notify everyone by 6:00 am tomorrow if there will be a late start. If you do not receive a text notification by 6:00am with information about a late start, then all buses and schools will be on their regular schedule.
