Avoid oversized costumes / bulky costumes (inflatable)
No weapons real or facsimile

HMS Boys basketball this morning 9 am. Girls basketball open gyms will begin Nov 4 at 4:30.

Basketball open gym tomorrow Saturday morning from 9 am to 10:30 am come play and learn.

Wrestling open gym/practice will begin today at 3:30 till the activity bus comes at 5:30. This is after our 'early out' so students will need to be transported back to school. If you student cannot make it today there are other practices this week Tues - Fri from 3:30 to 5:30.

Hearing Screening for 7th grade will occur at HMS on Wednesday Oct 21. If you would like to OPT out please contact the school for a form and return by Oct 20.

Carbon School District is currently seeking applications for a cafeteria clerk at Helper Middle School. Duties include entering student account numbers into the Aspire system as students come through cafeteria lines, collecting account payments, applying payments to student and staff accounts, notifying parents/guardians of account deficits, and tracking data for monthly reports. Other duties include helping as needed in the kitchen and communicating with school administration, faculty and staff. Food handler permit is required upon hiring. Will work approximately 10 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a Live Scan Fingerprint background screening (cost of $25). Carbon School District is seeking application for a full time Custodian. Custodians are responsible for keeping buildings clean and in an orderly condition. A custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature. They have to perform heavy cleaning duties, such as washing walls and windows, shampooing rugs, cleaning floors, removing rubbish and performing routine maintenance activities. Custodians also have to notify management of repairs needed, tend to furnaces and boilers and clean snow and other debris from sidewalks. The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. This position will be based out of the district office but will also be required to "roam" among schools as the need to fill in is required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have previous experience in janitorial work. Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to pass a live scan fingerprint background check (cost of $25). This position will remain open until filled.

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Business Office Financial Assistant. Will do basic accounting and clerical duties as assigned. May be asked to assist with any functions of the business office including payroll, accounts payable, purchasing and/or accounting. Will enter financial data into the accounting and payroll systems. Will oversee Employee Absence Management system. Will maintain payroll and financial records. Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must have a knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google G Suite, incredible attention to detail, great organizational skills, basic knowledge of accounting practices, good time management skills, the ability to work independently and on a team. Reminder: If your child is going to the parade as a part of a float please do not try to pick them up afterwards. We will have too many students to manage and will not be releasing students. They will be riding a bus back to HMS. We are not taking the whole school today. If you would like to checkout your student before hand you may but they may not ride the float. To ride the floats we will go and return as a group.

Carbon School District is seeking Sub Bus Drivers. Paid training provided to obtain Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement. Responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events. Drives a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging students at designated stops. Transports students and teacher on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed. Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy. Conducts safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily. Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary. Services buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; checks and when necessary fills tires and batteries. Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition. Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required. Attends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Utah Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children. Performs other related duties as required. Will work approximately 20 hours per week. Must be able to pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check (cost $25). Route driving beginning at $17 per hour.
