The Child Nutrition Program Supervisor oversees all aspects of the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) throughout the school district. The job functions will include administrating, planning, directing, and evaluating the program in order to meet the nutritional and educational needs of students.
Position responsibilities include establish quality standards for the presentation and service of food; implement a department-wide customer service philosophy focused on value and satisfaction; develop cost-effective menus that maintain nutritional integrity and meet state and federal guidelines and regulations; assess student preferences, industry trends, and current research to plan menus that encourage participation in the CNP. Work with school staff, teachers, parents, and physicians to plan menus for students with special nutrition needs. Establish procedures to ensure food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe environment. Integrate employee safety regulations into all phases of the school food service operation.
Manage the CNP using appropriate financial management techniques
Ensure all records and supporting documentation are maintained in accordance with district, state and federal laws and policies.
Oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of departmental staff
Must have a knowledge of menu planning, food purchasing, and preparation of foods in food service environment, experience with budget management, experience supervising personnel and strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
