The Transportation Supervisor ensures the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the district school bus and vehicle fleet.  This position directly supervises all transportation department personnel including bus drivers, bus aides and mechanics.  The supervisor will work with students, parents, school and district administrators, and employees to address and resolve transportation related issues.  The supervisor will also oversee the management of records and reports, employee training, and other compliance requirements under the regulations pertaining to school transportation.  Position Responsibilities: Recruit, select, instruct, evaluate, and supervise all transportation personnel. Oversee the preparation and updates to bus routes and schedules in order to transport all students in an efficient and effective manner. Work closely with building administrators and bus drivers to develop behavior plans in response to discipline issues occurring on school buses. Work with students and parents to collaborate to ensure proper behavior on the bus will be maintained. Ensure that all District drivers and vehicles comply with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to pupil transportation. Ensure the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the school bus fleet and other district-owned vehicles. Manage all aspects of the transportation department budget. Ensure that all transportation personnel receive the training necessary to safely and effectively perform their job.
