Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Full Time Intensive Behavior Intervention Aide at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. Intensive intervention paraprofessionals are responsible for managing students assigned to the intensive behavior intervention classroom. The position requires de-escalating extreme behavior, closely following and monitoring behavior plans, providing academic support to students, and collaborating with teachers and other staff. The intensive behavior intervention classroom will be provided for students who are unable to manage their behavior in a traditional setting and who need additional support with a lower teacher-to-student ratio.
Must have the ability to work with students who may be highly agitated and/or demonstrating extremely disruptive behavior. Ability to understand and follow behavior plan components such as follow break schedule, repeat instructions without frustration, progress monitor and document necessary interventions, communicate with teacher(s) and administration.
