CSD Families and Employees, The roads are extremely ice this morning and many side streets have not been plowed. Our buses will not be able to safely travel at the regularly scheduled time. All schools will have a LATE START TODAY, JANUARY 17. All bus routes and bell schedules will be shifted later by 2 hours today. Schools will NOT have early out today, plan on school ending at the normal time. We will continue to monitor the roads and we will notify everyone of any changes. Thank you, Mika Salas

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Sweeper at Wellington Elementary School in Wellington Utah. This position will work afternoon/evenings.  Will work approximately 20 hours per week. Help with the operation, upkeep and cleaning of the assigned school building and grounds. Keep the building comfortable, safe and clear for all times the building is scheduled for use.  Custodial duties include cleaning walls, windows, furniture, floors (carpet & tile), and cleaning restrooms. Stripping and waxing tile floors, refurbishing gym floors periodically. Other custodial duties as assigned by head custodian including minor maintenance on the building and grounds. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Librarian at Sally Mauro Elementary School in Helper, Utah. Must have some knowledge of the workings of a library, be able to work well with students, teachers and other educational staff. Will provide media services for students, teaching staff and building-level administration in a helpful, positive, congenial and flexible manner.  Assists students and teachers in the use of library facilities and services in the selection of library materials. Performs circulation duties including checking books in and out, sorting and shelving books, and keeping circulation records. Processes new books and materials, keeps track of where books are located. Maintains shelf list. Contacts students about overdue or damaged materials and collects fines. Processes new materials. Will perform a variety of tasks to help support the driver in providing safe and proper transportation of all students to and from school. Must know the proper use of securing devices for safety restraints, wheelchairs and seat belt; will assist the driver in the proper loading and unloading of passengers; maintain student discipline; supervise and assist students in transit; report any concerns regarding students to the driver and to the appropriate building staff.; know the school bus evacuation procedures and be physically capable to evacuate students in an emergency; learn the bus route and provide route information that includes driver directions for the best way to reach a location for a substitute or newly assigned bus driver, occupy a seat that provides the best opportunity for student supervision while the bus is in motion.  Will work approximately 29 hours per week. Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Assistant Track Coach at Carbon High School in Price, Utah. The Assistant Track Coach will work under the supervision of the Head Track Coach. Will help schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements. Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off-school property. Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times.Will design and facilitate practice, workout, and training exercises.  Ensure appropriate equipment is available and set up for practice and meets. Communicate with Head Coach and Athletic Director to coordinate plans or resolve problems, report accidents and incidents, and record or maintains data. Respond to emergencies and administers first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed.. Attend and participates in staff meetings and trainings. Carbon School District is seeking applications for a part time Custodian at Carbon High School in Price, UT. The school custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the building and supporting a learning environment that promotes health, attitude and pride of students. In addition to regular building maintenance functions, the school custodian provides direct support to classroom teachers in set up and maintenance of furniture and equipment. The school custodian also serves as a role model for students by displaying a professional, courteous, and helpful nature.The duties required of a custodian include replenishing stock in bathrooms, cleaning restrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting. Keeping the school as clean and tidy as possible is the overall responsibility of a custodian. They should be prepared to do things like moving heavy furniture to reach corners, cracks and crevices of covered parts of the room. They may have to clean laboratory equipment, such as computers and tables, mow and trim lawns and clean chimneys, flues and pipes with the use of power tools. Will work under the direction of the school principal and lead custodian.  Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
