Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Behavioral Interventionist at Mont Harmon Middle School. Mont Harmon Behavior Interventionist will work closely with teachers and building administration to provide services to Tier I, II and III students. They will respond to crisis situations, be part of the team that develops behavior plans, implement behavior strategies to help the student make positive behavior changes. Reminder that the 6th grade has their field trip to the Wave Pool and park tomorrow. The 8th graders have their field trip to Provo Beach. 7th graders have school.

Quick reminder about Parent/Teacher conferences tonight. 4pm-5pm. Pirate Treasure Hunt begins at 5pm and ends at 6:30pm. This is only for upcoming 6th graders. See you tonight.

Our last parent teacher conferences will be this coming Monday April 25th 4pm-7pm. On April 25th we will also be having our annual Pirate Treasure Hunt for all current 5th graders who are attending Mont Harmon next year. The hunt will begin at 5pm and end at 7pm. Students can come anytime between 5pm -and 6:30pm (students need to be done with the hunt by 7pm). Students will check in at the welcome table outside the office doors. We hope to see you on Monday!

Responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function and exercise; that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment; that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement; and that develops strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual and team physical activities and sports in accordance with each student’s ability. Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual or team sports, utilizing curriculum designated by the Utah State Board of Education. Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences. Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects accommodation for individual needs of students assigned. Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, regulations, and IEP. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents. Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members. Participate in the district staff development program. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.  Any other assignment deemed appropriate by the building principal. Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques. Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals. Coordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP.  Conducts special education evaluations and reevaluations.  Provides direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed.  Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations.  Completes all district and state reporting requirements. Establishes and maintains student control and discipline in the classroom, school premises or during school activities. Collaborates and consults with educational professionals and community service providers (i.e., social services, public health, medical providers etc.) regarding the needs of students. Carbon School District is seeking applications for Lunch workers. There is a position at Creekview Elementary School as well as at Mont Harmon Middle School. Duties include entering student account numbers into the Aspire system as students come through cafeteria lines, collecting account payments, applying payments to student and staff accounts, notifying parents/guardians of account deficits, and tracking data for monthly reports.  Other duties include helping as needed in the kitchen and communicating with school administration, faculty and staff.  Food handler permit is required upon hiring.  Will work up to 25 hours per week. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must be able to pass a Live Scan Fingerprint background screening (cost of $25). Parents of 8th graders! Tomorrow we will be doing a tour of Carbon High School with all of the 8th grade students. The buses will leave Mont Harmon at 10:30am and return to the school at 2:50pm. There will be a sack lunch provided for the students, or they can bring their own. Students will be assigned a teacher to be with for the tour. Also, all 8th grade baby pictures for the yearbook are due by this Friday (March 11th).

Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Special Education/IEP support teacher. The Special Education IEP support teacher will be responsible for assisting with UPIPS monitoring requirements, file reviews, and supporting special education teachers in the development and compliance of IEP files. Will occasionally complete special education testing if needed. Requirements of the positions is to be a licensed special education teacher with a great knowledge of the IEP process, high compliance with completion of IEP forms, understanding of special eligibility requirements, and ability to help teachers complete required IEP forms for students.
