Dear Parents and Guardians, Approximately an hour ago we had a report of a potential dangerous person at Carbon High School and the school was immediately put on lock down. Administration and local law enforcement responded and the situation was found to be an unsubstantiated threat. The lock down has been lifted and all after school activities have resumed as normal. We appreciate all involved including the community members who followed guidance from law enforcement and district personnel. Thank you, Mika Salas

Carbon District is reviewing language arts curriculum for adoption in grades K-5 beginning the 2024 school year. The Utah State Board of Education mandated curriculums must meet specific criteria in the science of reading. We are considering three that meet the current curriculum guidelines: McGraw Hill’s WONDERS program, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s INTO READING & Amplify’s CORE KNOWLEDGE LANGUAGE ARTS (CKLA). Teachers at elementary schools have been completing reviews of the programs & evaluating for those being considered. Parents/stakeholders are invited to review the programs on Mon, March 25th from 3-6 pm or Tues, March 26th from 8:11 am at the District Office, 251 W 400 N, Price, UT
