I have had some wonderful experiences while working for the Carbon School District in various positions.
I worked as a one-on-one aide with a sweet young girl as she went through grades one through five at Creekview School from 1995-1999. I worked another year at Creekview in the resource room; after which I went back to college and finished my Associates Degree.
In 2003 I started working for the Adult Program at the Castle Valley Center as a Direct Support Professional helping adults with special needs learn and practice life skills, and have work experiences, both at Castle Valley Center and in the community.
For the last two years I have been the manager of the Adult Program learning and practicing new skills of my own as a manager!
I am grateful for all the lessons I have learned while serving children and adults with special needs; their outlook on life is one to be admired. I consider them all my friends. I have had some amazing co-workers and supervisors who have been an example to me showing patience and kindness.
I have truly enjoyed every minute of it.
