Carbon School District is seeking applications for a Substitute Bus Driver. Will work approximately 10 hours per week. Responsible for safely transporting children to and from school and related events. Drives a school transportation vehicle within a prescribed route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging students at designated stops. Transports students and teacher on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed. Maintains order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy. Conducts safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily. Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary. Services buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; checks and when necessary fills tires and batteries. Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request. Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition. Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required. Attends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Utah Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children. Carbon School District is seeking applications for an Art Teacher to work with the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Program. The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program provides arts-integrated instruction to elementary students, effectively increasing student performance in every subject—from language arts and social studies to math and science. Must have a current Utah Teaching License with an endorsement to teach Art. Will teach 30-45 minute sessions with each class individually, and assess student learning. Provide required components for the BTSALP website, e.g. lesson plans, action research, teaching resources. Model arts core and integrated arts teaching and assessment. Collaborate with grade level teams for planning integrated lessons/units. Integrate the anchor standards and college and career readiness standards from the Utah English Language Arts Core Standards. Collaboratively involve the classroom teacher in the arts/integrated instructional activities. Attend BTSALP professional development meetings throughout the year. Collaborate with principal, DAC, and university partners to explore arts professional development opportunities for schools. Plan informances, performances and/or exhibits to celebrate students’ arts learning with the school community as audience at least once per year. Collaborate with other arts teachers in BTSALP in order to create an accessible collection of integrated lessons and resources. Participate in the BTSALP evaluation program, completing all components of data collection. Serve on the school arts team to set goals and plan/support arts events. Implement the arts teaching component of the program with fidelity. Assist advocacy efforts for the sustainability and growth of the program.
